MY ROOM IS FREAKING HOT NOW
I threw away my old comforter last sem cos it was too old but it was a magical one man. it had a special cooling property about it...it always felt somewhat cool even tho the weather was burning. my new one sucks la..doesnt have that unique quality hah. dun think i'll be using it to sleep for quite some time...
where did all the wind go?

ok im back in hall and it feels good to be back and not feel any stress. but there's very few ppl ard..wonder when the seniors are going to move in. the 6th floor is cool man, literally...the wind's really strong when i stand in the corridor..but the sad thing is, it doesnt blow into my room heh...wrong direction la...theres a nice view of erm..other blks hah from my room. but its not like last time where i was facing them directly (waves to ah soooh and qibooo). well...looking fwd to FWOC..wonder wats in store heh..
oh HOOBASTANK'S gonna perform at siloso beach on 14th aug. tics are at 59 bucks and 89 i think...heh...hm wonder if zhenqian will have free tics again..muahaha..he has my phone number alr so no worries..but seriously? does anybody wanna go?

checking back into hall tom and moving the rest of my stuff, eg my computer, 2nd batch of clothes, shoes. toiletries and guitar. it seems to me like theres more stuff now then wat i had to bring home when i was moving out last sem, maybe cos i chucked everything into a big box that time. but at least most of the stuff is there now, some in prabs' room and some lying somewhere along the corridor haha. i think the 6th floor is like the messiest floor in the block. hope my room doesnt need much cleaning up..i hate cleaning up man..the fan, the shelves, the cupboards, the mattress, the door, the floor, the windows, the stupid blinds which u have to clean one by one..and after that, moving all the stuff into the room..argh i dun feel like setting up my comp again..ive did that like how many times alr..especially cos of the old monitor which made me switch them up and down...oh btw, the old monitor is gone man..i switched it back with the old CPU and it didnt work..and even when i set it up with the new CPU, it didnt work, unlike the first time. guess i'll have to call DELL and get somebody down to check it out..man i have to do that soon if not i wun have any comp to use when i go back for the wkends in future.
k i jus had another 'free linkin park ticket' incident. well, this is somewhat similar. my mum told me that my bro's fren had free tickets to watch some play...so she asked me if i wanted to watch. but me being the computing geek, i wasnt interested in plays (k save for KR production haha). it turned out that they went to watch the musical in which nat is involved in. y? cos my bro's fren is one of the main guys who wrote the script and score for it. if i had asked my mum wat play it was i wldnt have mind going..cos its free..haha the tics cost 25 bucks..actually she sort of gave me clue by asking if jubilee hall was at raffles hotel..cos i asked nat the other time..but i jus didnt piece the puzzle together. duh.
im stuffed. ate 2 baos earlier (not 3 like u ah soooooh) and then my bro called to ask if i wanted food..so naturally i said yes haha...so i ate one packet of hokkien mee and im feeling oh so good now haha..might be a little overkill but wat the heck..i hate to go hungry at nite b4 i sleep.

back from 2 days of Baybeats. nothing much to shout about with only 2 or 3 bands deserving some praise. i feel that the past 2 years' ones were better. some of the bands really sucked this time round, producing poor quality songs and being technically messy...and these bands were in the night slots..wonder how those in the evening slots faired. One baybeats regular, Buddhistson from japan, helped to uphold the overall standard of the bands. Altho i cant say much bout their tunes but they really outshone nearly all the other bands in terms of skill. and their drummer is mad...with a whole head of dreadlocks and his arms flailing wildly ard, he looked like Animal from the muppets playing the drums.
i was with quek, shaven sally soh, qiiiboooo, sherry and ah bang ghaz on sat's baybeats and we joined the a blkers for some drinks at chijmes after the event. we proceeded to boat quay for supper and that's when i witnessed a fight up close. if im not wrong i think thats the first time i acutally saw a fight in real life. it wasnt a violent or bloody fight with parangs or helmets and it only involved a couple of guys with the mandatory screaming and crying ah lians trying to stop pairs of guys brawling. well, i couldnt see much as i was facing the wrong way but from wat quek told me, some guys walked past another bunch of guys who jus got into a taxi and one of them got 'tai ji' with one of them blahblah..watever...and then all hell broke loose. 2 of them broke away from the main 'area' but they didnt really fight..one jus threw one or 2 wild swings at the other, who didnt retaliate..and they then proceeded to outstare each other...but soon the swinger ran back to help his kah kias. the brawl was getting too close for comfort as it was spreading out, with one guy getting beaten on the floor jus like a metre or 2 away from me. one malay dude calmly walked up and rolled his bike out of the way as it was almost toppled over. jus as we were about to leave, something amazing happened. 5 policemen suddenly appeared from nowhere and the next thing u know, 3 of them were pinning the instigator, i assume, on the floor. thats wat i call efficient man. it was all over within 2 to 3 minutes. and not only that, about 5 minutes later, 3 police cars were at the scene.
it was a scene straight out of Triple Nine, sans james lye and lim yu beng.

here's another story of the screwed up things which computers do to us.
I wanted to print some documents but my printer went out of ink..i looked ard and saw my other printer in the shelf so being the responsible person that i am *ahem* i proceeded to unplug the printer so as to use the other one. but jus as i took out the usb cable, i realised that my screen went blank and it displayed the 'no signal' warning.
unbelievable.
i started replugging all the plugs, wriggling them all about, blowing into the cable sockets, basically all sorts of things...but nothing worked. and then the genius that is me came up with a brilliant idea.
i swapped my monitor with the other one from my hostel computer to determine the cause of the prob, whether it was due to the monitor itself or a faulty connection point.
thankyewverynice.
now here comes the screwed up part. the problematic monitor works fine with the other comp. and vice versa. so where does the problem lie? u tell me. i'm too lazy now to swap the monitor back to see if it will work now.
anyway, mock camp jus ended on wed and i must say it was tiring for someone who hasnt excercised in ages. it was basically 3 days of games, more or less of the physical kind. oh there was a couple of games which involved food. one of them was captain's ball or should i say captain's papaya, tomato and grape. go figure. after a few throws of the papaya only the skin was left and papaya bits were flying everywhere. it was a bloodbath out there i tell u. the tomato and grape didnt really have a fruitful time out there either (yeah that was full of all the pun and lameness that u can stomach). another game involved eating a sandwich made up of food passed from one person to another using various parts of their body.
we went to sentosa on one of the days and while i was sitting in the sun making water bombs, the entrepreneur that is me came up with a brilliant idea.
y not start a business selling waterbombs?
the waterbombs can be catered to everyone's needs. it can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, u can have bloated or flaccid kinds, easy or difficult to burst kinds and of cos various colours. oh it definately has to be biodegradable. no more hassle of clearing up all the plastic bags. just imagine, ppl spend so much time to make the waterbombs, only to expend it within minutes, and then they have to go ard picking all of it up. not very efficient in the labour to enjoyment ratio eh. it'll make a fortune during orientation period man.
ok that's it. im quitting school.

The Swimming Diaries Part 2
finally went swimming today cos it was really sunny in the morning...so bright that i think i was woken up by it. so off i went, early in the afternoon when the sun was shining ever so brightly in the clear blue sky....
....only to be greeted by dark clouds jus bout half an hour after jumping into the pool. yep i was shivering soon enuff with each occasional gust of wind, well partly my fault cos i was talking to my fren and not swimming that much hah. the final straw was when it started to drizzle..
in the changing room, i saw, unfortunately, something which i still can picture in my mind rite now. n i wonder y.
now the men's changing rooms have cubicles with doors for each shower, as compared to the army-style shower area of the older generation changing rooms, whereby the warning of not bending down to pick up ur soap was relevant to anyone who would be so unlucky to have a male unsure of his sexuallity standing behind him. so the logical thing now wld be to close the door when u bathe rite? but no...there still exists many middle-aged chinese men who would happily go about soaping their body and nether regions without closing the door, exposing their far-from-brad-pitt's-muscular-ass (i dunno how his looks like anyway) for everyone to see. i dun get it...y cant they jus close the door? do they like to feel the wind brushing against their ass so that it'll give them a tingling sensation? or maybe even for their balls?
so i happened to catch, by a stroke of bad luck, some chinese man who was like doing the limbo under the shower head. my only guess was that he wanted to get the full force of the jet of water to pound relentlessly on his balls, giving him immense pleasure? for the sake of the rest of us...close the damn door la. i was packing my stuff on the bench and he had to stand opposite me and towel off...in the nude...while i was bending over my bag. he was like drying his hair so vigourously that im sure some parts of him were jiggling about freely. i quickly stuffed my things into my bag, got up and turned...only to see another guy in his t-shirt getting ready to wear his underwear.
sigh...ive seen more ass on other days tho..

had a couple of bdae celebrations over the weekend..first up was my good fren cong from way back in sec school, who held his celebration on sat. me and quek set off in the early evening to go get his present in orchard, and then made our way to maysprings condo in Bukit Panjang. yep..from orchard mrt, all the way past raffles place, jurong east, choa chu kang and then crossed over to the lrt to alight at Bukit Panjang. we didnt bother to call them to find out where the bbq pit was, but gave up after a while. so i called cong.
"hello eh cong ah where r u all?"
"oh u walk past the guardhouse then turn left la..eh u been here b4 rite? how come u dunno??"
"no wat its my first time here."
it soon dawned upon my dear fren..
"oh fuck!! didnt i tell u all its not at maysprings anymore..its over at ted's place!"
yeah and where is ted's place? all the way in Potong Pasir...bloody idiot...msged everybody bout the change but forgot bout the 2 of us...and no it didn't have anything to do with me not giving him my new number...in the end he offered to pay for our cab fare to potong pasir (we would have made him pay anyway) and by then i was starving like mad la. anyway, ted's place is the usual venue for most of the SAS gatherings, along with the other guys' SAJC frens. cong got dumped into the pool the last time and by having the celeb here again, he was jus asking for it. but it was such an anti-climax cos he was whining and pleading with us not to throw him into the pool so much that in the end he jus jumped in himself, while all of us jus stood ard..how anti-climax is that man.
on sun i went for singyee's party over at her house at choa chu kang. yup, again...but it was the correct place this time heh. chilled out for a while with the other a blkers then went back to hall with yan, prabs and maxim to watch the euro finals. only caught the first half in the lounge cos it was kinda boring..during halftime we adjourned to prabs room and we never looked back haha. and greece had to score the only goal when i was in the toilet producing output to prepare for the input of cheese prata. sigh. celebrated nat's belated bdae today with the usual gang with a dinner at lips cafe and spiderman 2, which was a great show. the soundtrack's even better. one of the best soundtracks ive heard so far. go listen to Dashboard Confessional's Vindicated if u haven't yet. heard its making its rounds on radio.
gotta go back to sleeping early now that soccer's over...

well its july now and school's gonna start in a few wks time, which is a scary thot cos i cant remember how to even write a simple program. 2 months is all took for me to pratically forget my programming stuff since first sem...and i can clearly recall myself writing basic programs quite effortlessly for the exam. guess i might have to start doing some revision b4 school starts cos im sure next sem's modules wun bother bout the basics.
yeah call me a mugger if you want, but i just feel that i have to do some revision..who's to say that i'll actually get down to doing it? heh. i'll most prob end up facing the consequences when lessons start.
on another note, well done greece. this yr's euro finals is one where u dun see the traditional big names in soccer. one lesson the coaches can learn from this tournament is that over-reliance on star (or celebrity) players can bring the downfall of their teams. zidane, beckham, raul, del piero..not sure bout germany tho heh. and who noes wat would have happened if nedved hadnt been injured in the first half? i'll be rooting for portugal, but i would love to read the papers the next day if greece win.
havent been going swimming lately due to the erratic weather..when i do go out in the afternoons, the weather gets really hot, but when i sit at home without any plans, it gets cloudy. hopefully it'll go my way next wk...then i can deposit more yellow stuff in the hougang swimming complex.
