(insert name of album here)
out in stores late 2004
This pic was taken by cong bout a year ago..can't remember the name of the place we were at but we were standing beneath some stairs, next to the back door of some cafe? haha alrite i can't recall much anyway...dun ask me wat that red spot is..i do remember that there was some red lantern nearby..
Anyway, went for soccer carnival on sat, and me is well burnt now aiiight. i'll return to my nice healthy shade of white in a few month's time. i never expected myself to get burnt in any other place other than at the beach or at the swimming pool, but this is a first man. This must be the sportiest i can get this whole yr..haha..i actually played can, not like last yr where i hardly played any of the sports i signed up for. altho i played only in the second half, i consider that as an achievement, knowing how often i play sports. There were 2 teams from each block, and i was in the lesser skilled team, which is obvious, but still, we went all the way to the semis..but we got kicked out with a 3-0 scoreline heh. that was a big achievement to all of us in the team tho, and we were happy to go that far. the better team got thru to the finals, but sadly, lost 1-0 to the b blk team which kicked us out. the finals was kinda controversial, with a seemingly clear handball which could have resulted in a penalty for us getting by unnoticed by the ref..haha...it was quite an emotional atmosphere. No matter, A blk will win the soccer gold next yr hah..
Ok time to skip the other IBG games....
Oh i realised i spelled 'moral' as 'morale' in my previous post..how embarrassing

Booyakasha!!!
Chekkit...aiight
Me is back in da house and me is feeling well orny..
ok no i dun mean that.
Hows the new look...not a big change but hey at least now i dun have that super gek emo seh words all over the photo..now it's all about coolness...the title banner is a rip off from my previous blog layout..cool huh..actually the text is quite gek emo seh also haha...but i like the red stripes thing going on..ok enuff bragging..well redo-ing my blog wasn't as tough as expected..all i did was copy my backup code and edit the links and insert the title banner.
IBGs going on now..and i'm not exactly going down for many of the matches..well for this week at least, cos of auditions going on. haha its fun being in the judges seat..felt like being in Singapore Idol..but minus the antics of bananaman and lemon tree man...
hm..nothing much to blog now..just felt restless and uninspired to study ..hah yes study.
PS: what's the morale of this entry?

arrggghhhhh!!!!
to quote ah soh:
"hsdlahsflskjglajksglkjlagkgjs"
damn blogger...it jus ate up the whole of the right side of my blog...links, unkymood, tag board, archives and tracker.
every fucking thing.
and all i did was to change my pics cos somehow or rather villagephotos suspended those photos (fuck u too villagephotos). i previewed it after the changes and everything was fine..until i saved and published it. then i realised that my template is missing out a huge chunk of code.
it jus disappeared into internet oblivion.
fortunately i have a copy of my code at home..it always pays to backup ur code..even ur posts..do a ctrl-c before posting..u never noe when blogger will get all bastard-y on u and screw up ur post. i experienced that jus in my previous post. and now this.
u may have won the battle blogger, but when i return with my code, i will win the war.
i'll be barrck.

the
Hoobastank concert was great, save for the fact that we were damn far from the stage, like almost 100 metres out, so far that we were even behind the sound control tent. and not as if the whole area allocated to those paying fans were totally filled up. there was a huge empty space betw us lesser mortals and those who paid. but at least they erected a large screen behind the stage, so we could still see what was going on heh. and it was filmed like those live concerts u see on tv, with multi angles and close ups..so it was fine with me..i was more eager to hear them rather than see them. altho i must say that the lead,
Doug Robb had a great body...could see his 6 pack and all from where i was standing. needless to say, mildred and lynn were busy swooning over him the minute he took of his shirt, so much so that their excited squeals caught the attention of another like-minded stranger who agreed zealously. i wasnt standing with priya and yiting at that time but im sure yiting had lots to say bout it...she told me later that she will go back and find pictures of him. but im not sure if she'll find topless pic tho heh.
anyway, they played well and had lotsa energy on stage..Doug was jumping ard and was great in keeping the crowd energised...he even coaxed us to jump the barricades, albeit in a subtle way. in the end, somebody did jump over, but he was promptly jumped on by security guys, much like the way the police reacted to the boat quay incident. the guy's action prompted more to jump, and soon, there were too many of them to handle and everyone started surging foward. one of the barricade collapsed over at one end (not sure if security did it on purpose) so they told us to go in from there instead of jumping haha how nice. but it was the last song alr, crawling in the dark, and so we had like a 1 min glimpse of Hoobastank up close. i took some photos with my phone, but couldnt really make out the guys, jus the stage and lights and the fan's raised hands.
they played more stuff from their second album, which was a good thing, cos the first album isn't as good as the second. the ppl ard where i was standing seemed to be more in touch with the songs from their first album, cos they were singing along to those, rather than those from The Reason. oh but when they played 'the reason', everyone sang along..and im sure its everyone...in fact that song might be the only song which some ppl who were with us free tic ppl knew. dun think anyway wld pay 59 bucks to listen to 'the reason' live heh. but anyway, we were the 'freeloaders' in a way, so it wasn't surprising that there were ppl like mildred and yiting who knew like only 3 songs. at least i have the songs from the second album...haha..quite sad actually...never paid for any hoobastank material..not even their concert hah.
well, altogether it was a good concert (altho i wished the music could be louder from where i was standing heh) and i enjoyed myself, partly cos this was the first proper rock concert by a well-known band ive attended (i still feel pissed off with Dreamtheater for cancelling their concert here without a reason. i wld surely have paid for that), and also cos i feel that somehow this free tic (thanks again kelvin) was to make up for the loss i went thru upon missing out on the linkin park concert heh. still, this was better than all the local gigs i always go to, including baybeats heh.
ok somehow i feel that i might get free tics again for the next rock concert here haha..hm i heard that the Eagles are coming to town....
when's weezer ever gonna perform here??

I've got a free tic to Hoobastank's concert!!!
UOB came down to hall today to promote their campus card and it turned out that they were giving away a free hoobastank concert tic upon 2 referals. i'm eternally grateful to kelvin, a junior from my blk, who gave me the tic cos he didnt want it. he didnt even joke bout selling it to me. kelvin, u da man.
A blk rocks haha.
all of u who teased me bout the linkin park fiasco, u can eat ur words haha. im gonna catch a better band perform.
anyways, was quite worried today cos of module problems. keith and i decided to drop the stupid calculus module after he consulted his fren, who told him that it wasnt necessary to take it to be able to get thru stats. at first we thot it was a prerequisite, but apparently for returning students, as long as we apply for a wavier thru CORS, the dept will allow us to take stats without having to take calculus first. but i didnt know this yet when keith told me he was going to drop it and take stats this sem, so i was left wondering what to do. i couldnt take stats, cos it clashed with another module, and if i were to take stats next sem, this gauranteed wavier may not be in effect anymore. so i made a few calls and finally was told of the good news that calculus would not be a prerequisite for returning students....phew..... and so i happily dropped calculus and was going to bid for film and history, which i wanted to do previously b4 i decided to do the stupid calculus module, when i realised that there might not be any vacancies left. and true enough, it was full. i was left with a few choices of arts GEMs and ended up taking Changing Landscapes, and i missed the first lecture cos it was going on while i was trying to decide which module to take. sigh. never had problems with modules the past 2 sems. damn, shld have clarified the whole prerequisite issue first when it came up, instead of jus rushing to apply for calculus.
ok jus watched dawn of the dead and was falling asleep during some parts of the show. it was quite a crappy show btw.
i shall go sleep now.

Happy National Day S'pore
I guess i'll be catching the parade on tv again since there's nothing else to do here at home. But its gonna be similar to last yr's, and the yr b4, and probably every single one in the past 10 over yrs. u've got the march past, the contingents forming different words, the arrival of the PAP in their white uniform, the commandos rappeling/flying fox-ing, the fly-past, the parachutists, the mass display and the fireworks. i wonder how difficult it is for the guy planning the events for the parade to come up with new ideas every yr. he can jus resuse past ideas and no one will notice. i used to enjoy watching the parade, when i was a little boy, but i soon realised that it was the same thing year after year. i managed to get tics for last yr's parade but even being there in person didnt make it any more exciting. the only things that were memorable were seeing the magnitude of the stadium being filled up by thousands of singaporeans, and especially at night when everyone took out their torches and waved it around. and of cos, the fireworks, which are definitely meant to be seen in person. they dun look half as good on tv.
FWOC '04
well its finally over, and it's the reason for my absence from my blog for almost 2 wks. it had its ups and downs, but on the whole it was a well-planned event which catered well for the freshmen. the ironic thing was, they weren't around most of the time. the locals at least. my og consisted of mostly foreigners half the time, with the locals appearing for a few days throughout the whole camp. there was a phenomenon of many freshmen being invloved in faculty stuff, especially their faculty's rag, which was one the reasons for their absence. i think this was due to the timing of our camp, which clashed with many faculty talks and even matriculation week.
I must say that being a senior is less tiring than being a freshman, as i didnt have to be involved in all the activities and could get my much deprived sleep. but still, it was tiring at times, being able to sleep only 3 to 4 hrs for a few days in a row. when i came back on sat nite, i managed to sleep 17 hrs straight, and i still could sleep last nite. THAT is how much sleep i've been missing.
FLAG was much more tiring this time round due to the lack of sleep the nite b4, but i was slacker this time though haha so it kinda balanced out. i paired with yan again but we really slacked alot more than last yr. ended up mainly eating the whole day, and oh i slept in macdonalds haha. still, i managed to fill up almost 1 can out of 3 heh. well, seeing that wee liam managed to fill up more than me within 3 to 4 hours, my feat is really nothing to shout about.
RAG was kinda different for me also, as i was appointed by jacky to help out. at first i tot i was going to have to assist in operating the float but it turned out that i was to assist the stiltwalkers, which is a much simpler job in my opinion. i was quite hesistant initially cos i was simply lazy and didnt wanna get involved in all the manual work which rag is associated with. but it was an interesting experience to be with the rest of the ppl involved in rag. we had to gather at 4 am to go down to the src when the event only starts at 8. but i had the opportunity to see how everyone got ready for such a big event, and managed to see up close all the other floats. still, im not going to join rag next yr, it jus isnt my kinda thing.
anyway, my og had an outing on sat to prabs' favourite hangout at chijmes: father flanigans. thanks to him that was the 3rd time in 2 months ive been to that place. nothing spectacular u might say? do realise that im not much of a pub-goer. some of the foreigners went, namely one china girl and 3 malaysians, and the surprising thing was that they weren't as innocent as they seemed to be when i first met them heh. all it took was a few perverse jokes and comments from us and it was easy to see through their seemingly angelic exterior haha.
looking foward to this week cos its block initiation week. hope that my blk freshies will turn out to be enthu bout hall life, even though not many were around during orientation. most of them seem quite friendly and easy to talk to, but then again, they look like they have an active life outside of hall. i hope we can change that heh.
well, enuff about hall. im back at home now and i was lazing ard watching tv the whole day cos my monitor was spoilt. but i was desperate after i couldnt get my dad's laptop to connect to the net. so i tried my monitor again. did the norm of repluggin and blowing the sockets, and miraculously, its up and running again. technology never ceases to amaze me.
or maybe i jus noe how to blow.
