its kinda scary when u think about how pervasive Microsoft has become in our lives. Just look at the number of ppl and organisations using microsoft products. Do u realise that they can install unknown software in our computers thru the damn automatic updates in windows? yes that irritating program which seemingly keeps running when ur not at your computer, and gives u the warning that the updates are going to be installed within 1 min or something unless u click cancel. but u know that the warning will still appear sooner or later. who knows wat's in the 'security updates' that microsoft is installing in ur computer?
anyway, i recently tried to send some mp3 files to some ppl over MSN, which is another microsoft product if u didn't realise, and the file transfer was blocked as MSN deemed it to be 'potentially unsafe'. come on la, viruses and worms dun usually come in the form of mp3s or videos. if they block executable files i can understand. it's so obvious they're trying to curb piracy. at first i tot there was some new auto blocking feature of the new version of msn. but after checking thru the options, i couldn't find any. then i realised that the common thing about those ppl whom i tried to send the files to had windows service pack 2 installed. i remember being really irritated with sp2 cos it kept installing itself automatically thru the auto update. even if i uninstalled it, it wld just download and install itself again. now that i've managed to find out how to turn off the automatic updates permanently i've got no problems with 1001 'security updates' being installed at all times of the day. so i got my frens to uninstall sp2 and wat do u know....the files could be sent over. the peculiar thing about this was that these people had sp2 installed, but a couple of them had the automatic updates disabled a long time ago, and they didnt have this problem even when they first installed the new version of msn. so that could only mean that somehow this auto blocking feature was installed thru msn? after all, everything's microsoft. shows how easy microsoft can impose on u eh.
but there's always a way out heh.

ok maybe some of u know this, maybe some of u don't. but i didnt know. so lemme tell u what i just learnt:
NEVER TAKE 4 MODULES WITH BACK TO BACK EXAMS.
i jus had my second one today, and i wannnntt to diiiiiieeeeee.
sleep, wake up, bathe, study, eat, blow nose, bathe, study, wipe nose, go library, study, sleep....
arrggghhhhh.
i think its sleep time...hm..or issit eat, or blow nose, or go library...

ok jus came back from my first paper and i think i shall blog haha..can't sleep in this terribly hot weather anyway...
my mum called a few nights ago, jus to ask how i was doing, since i wldnt be back for another week. i know she wants to chat, but i somehow cant think of stuff to ask or say to her, and usually our phone conversations wld last for less than 5 mins. its kinda wierd to hear her say stuff like 'so how are u doing?' or 'studying ah'? haha and i think i give them impression that im a huge mugger, cos somehow they always call when im in my room studying, so i'll pause my music and the background will be damn quiet, as if im concentrating damn hard. when in actual fact i most probably would be msn-ing hah. and furthermore, when i go back home, i'll go to my room and study. either that or i'll be using the computer the whole nite.
anyway, my mum told me that there has been some 'changes' to the home, cos my uncle who's going overseas gave us some of his furniture and decor. hm..apparently my room has some 'changes' too...lemme see what he's got tt i wldnt mind in my room. 2 huge speakers, projector and screen, *gasp!! 1 damn nice electric guit (cant remember wat model it is) or electric acousitc guit..my god i jus realised he's even got a mixer la. oh and a baby grand somemore..haha did i mention he's damn rich? ok definitely no baby grand in my room. but he has no drums arghh...hah ok asking too much. the way my mum said it seemed like my house looks quite different now, so im quite looking forward to going back home to check it out. but anyway that's another week and 4 more exams from now....

going thru a kinda low period rite now, having low morale and esteem, and generally just feeling stupid bout myself. This has dragged on for quite a while now, but it'll pass. The clock is still ticking though, but it's reaching a point where it'll be too late.
i really have to start studying, its exactly one week to my first paper, and my mucus production system is suddenly working in full swing. i shld have taken a photo of the amount of toilet paper i accumulated within 15 mins. it would put hailin's pic to shame. hm it must be the over exposure to the hon sui sen aircon haha...and not forgetting the screwed up weather.
oh and my dear stats lecturer better reply my email..the last time i sent him a mail, he said he didnt receive anything. great. and his consulting period is 2 days b4 the paper, both of which i have other papers. where will i have time to consult him like tt? i just need him to answer my queries, and alot of my probs will be solved.
ok if im not alert, my mucus will jus drip without warning...so i'd better go lie down so that it doesnt have a chance to flow out. i'll just deal with the 'backlog' of mucus when i wake up hah.
